“I am like
a great wave of energy
that illuminates a room.
Everyone sees the light
and becomes affected.”

Affirmation for the 54th Verse of the Tao Te Ching
from Living the Wisdom of the Tao by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

The Tao Te Ching is a beautiful work, a tool for self-discovery, alchemy and realisation, by Lao Tzu.

The original text can be tricky for a modern reader to relate to, and much discourse has arisen in an effort to make it better understood. Once described as “a famous puzzle which everyone would like to feel he had solved”, it has given rise to numerous translations, commentaries, analyses, essays…

Of all the various texts on Tao Te Ching, this little book by Wayne Dyer has been a favourite of mine for decades.

I find it especially valuable as a tool for contemplation.

Wayne Dyer’s affirmations work alongside the Tao Te Ching Verses to help direct attention in ways that bring about openness. Treat them like gentle Zen koans, rather than affirmations, and experience how they entice the mind to that which is beyond mind.

How do you experience this affirmation?
